The Centre for Obesity Control was founded to focus on evaluation, development and expansion of procedures and techniques in Bariatric (Obesity) surgery for patients with Morbid Obesity. Surgery is the preferred treatment option in these patients with an extreme degree of obesity. Training of surgeons in the art and safe practice of laparoscopy remains one of the priorities of the department. The training courses conducted in the department are endorsed by Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo-surgeons (IAGES).
